Furthermore, overpopulation can also contribute to the problem, as the competition for jobs has increased substantially, meaning the income of people would be lowered, causing them to lower their living standards. Some lower skilled citizens might not even have a job, increasing unemployment rate, increasing the disparity between the rich and the poor. Therefore, several solutions has been created as an attempt to solve the issue, which are all specified in certain areas such as policies improving social mobility, increasing the access to healthcare for citizens, and lastly focusing on taxes. One of the solutions in solving poverty is to improve the healthcare system for different citizens. When healthcare is hardly accessible or really expensive, the people in society does not even have basic access to health, which can be troublesome as it enhances the spread of diseases and a lower living standard.

Furthermore, if citizens need to focus all their investments on healthcare, they would not have the opportunity to spend on other fundamental needs, such as proper education, housing. As a result, these people would continue to fall down in the vicious poverty cycle. Therefore, one good policy is for the government to set a boundary for people who are suffering from poverty to receive allowances, so they do not have to pay as much for healthcare anymore. As a result, these citizens can still afford other aspects of life, increasing their overall living standard, meaning they could break out of the poverty cycle. Furthermore, this also decreases the disparity between the rich and the poor, as this policy means different kinds of people can have a somewhat equal amount of resources, improving the overall equality of society. At the same time, the rich ones would not have to worry about this policy being unfair. If everyone could have free healthcare, then that means the higher social classes are working really hard, yet most of their income paid as taxes to the government to pay for healthcare, making them feel unjust. However, this policy is just an allowance, but not a complete free system, meaning the problem mentioned above would not happen.

Despite the benefits affordable healthcare brings for the poor ones in society, and the compromise it creates for the rich ones, there are still drawbacks from the perspective of the government. This is especially true because if the government is spending much money on healthcare, other resources such as education, technology and infrastructure might be neglected, possibly slowing down the economic growth in these areas, falling behind in the tough competition, especially in the technological advanced world. Furthermore, there would be a high demand on medical care, which would force the working population to focus on health, also contributing to the slowing down in other areas. To solve this issue, the government can set a higher limit. They can avoid giving allowances to citizens who although have low income, but can definitely still afford basic needs. Therefore, only the ones who really need it can have the access to healthcare, while the somewhat capable ones are not taking advantage of the system. As a result, this would lower the financial burden placed on the government, allowing them to develop their economy.
