"A Rose For Emily": Emily Grierson Character Analysis
Well, everybody knows Emily. She fell head over heels crazy and she thought that a man would marry her so she poisons him with such suspense. In my opinion, she was crazy because, when her father died, she was very depressed because she was sad that he wasn’t around you see when he was alive she was always by his side. This essay will analyze the plot of the novel 'Rose For Emily' from the point of view of the psychological portrait of the main character - Emily.
Well, she was so in love and desperate for his love that she even slept by his crops. According to the text, one of her cousins lifted something from it and leaning forward, that faint and invisible dust dry and acrid in the nostrils, we saw a long strand of iron hair. Many of the passages stated “for a long while, we just stood there, looking down at the profound and fleshless grin. The body had once lain in the attitude of an embrace, but now the long sleep that outlasts love that conquers even the grimace of love had cuckolded him”. This means that she so didn’t have any other male in her life and she didn’t want to let Homer leave her so she had to kill him in cold blood so she can embrace the love they had for each other.
Delusional is not just a word that we can call Emily. In my opinion, she was alone and by herself. According to the text, the construction company came with riggers and mules and machinery and a foreman named Homer Barron a Yankee - a big, dark, ready man, with a big voice and the riggers singing in time to the rise and fall of picks. Pretty soon he knew everybody in town. Whenever you heard a lot of laughing anywhere about the squares Homer Barron would be in the centre of the group. Presently we began to see him and Miss. Emily on Sunday afternoons driving in the yellow-wheeled buggy and the matched team of bays from the livery stable.” This means that Homer brought about some type of joy into her life, and she no longer felt alone. Her killing him meant that she wanted the love to last forever.
Family can sometimes discover hidden things and the plot of the novel 'Rose For Emily' once again proves it to us. In my opinion, according to the passage, they had not even been represented at the funeral that Emily did not attend so everyone in the neighborhood. Got very suspense about why? She didn’t attend and then the whispering began in the neighborhood so Emily continued carrying her head high enough even if she believes she has fallen and then her two cousins arrived and they discovered there was a boor locked, and never been opened so her cousin got the door open and discovered that room was here bedroom where they found her wedding dress and his suit and spider webs everywhere , and they saw something in the bed so they went over and pull the curtain open and seen a dead body laying on a pillow and right beside the body was a strand of gray hair. This means that she didn't have to kill him over something he didn't agree to do cause jokes on her he never even liked her and so he told her that he wasn't going to marry her and she just snapped well she was crazy and so she killed him if he didn't want to marry her, he didn't have to you can't force someone in something and they dont agree and you decide to end his life because if she wouldn't have him no one can so now she has all of his love to her cause he’s dead.
