The Morphology and Syntax of Common Slangs & Jargon Around the World

There are many different words around the world that have different pronunciations and dialects, each place in the world have their own dialects and pronunciation of the words differ from a place to another, so most of the times we can differentiate between people and know that they are from where from their accent. Also, in every specific language there are some words that have their own special meanings Here are the transcriptions of the words in IPA, and since most of these terms are more modern slang, and people have either just come up with some of the words or they were already existing words that people started using in a different way, most people pronounce these words the same way. Languages develop through time. Nowadays most of the people use slang words especially with their friends in their speaking, while they are texting. There are slang words that people come up with and made it in order to express themselves better and to speak and text in a easier way since most of the slang word are shorter than the real word.

Phonetics and Phonology

These words are modern slang words. These slang words come up with some words or they are existing words that people using it among each other that is different than the origin word itself. The pronunciation of those words changes from a place to another which means it depends on the geographical area of that place. However; the pronunciation of those word are easy and almost all of the people are pronouncing it in the same way. It expresses a grammatical contrast that is obligatory for its stem's word class in some given grammatical context. Example; bae is one free morpheme which means it can stand a word by itself, which is also a root. Bae does not take any derivational affixes. The prefix for bae can be barbae which is noun and columbae which is also a (noun) and it means an order of birds, including pigons. Dead which means drunk, of an event, having few attendees, of an event, boring, and in serious trouble. Dead also is a free root morphemes. For prefix, “un” can be taken which will be undead which means the antonyme of dead. For suffix we can say “deadly” (adjective) which means causing or capable of causing deathly; mortal. Which it means I took beautiful pictures of her.

Semantics and Pragmatics

This section talks about the context, meaning and the phrase of the words. The term Clock [klɑk] this term has actually has nothing to do with time. You would use the term As Merriam-Webster defines the verb, to clock is to “hit hard.” Therefore, if you clock, are clocking, or clocked, someone, you essentially strike them across the head with an insult. Another slang word is dead; according to Borge, the traditional definition is used to describe something that is no longer alive. However as slang it does not mean that and it means that something is so funny or ridiculously good it's forced you to be hyperbolic. So, people use this word when they are talking about something comedy which means they dead because the situation was very comedy that they could not stop their laughing. For example; Did you see that scene in that incredible Netflix comedy? I’m dead.

The internet argues that this phrase is an acronym for “before anyone else,” another way of describing bae is used for very special person in our life. while it is synonymous with “sweetheart” or “baby,”. Its also roots likely stem from African-American Vernacular English, a term linguists use to describe words that originated in Black culture.

Sociolinguistics

This section focuses on understanding the terms in relation to social factors; such as when these terms will be used, who uses this terms, and also where this terms will be used. Those terms are not formal terms, which means they are casual and can’t be used among formal people or in the formal places. those terms mostly use in text messages, in twitter, and the other social medias. In addition, those terms use among teenagers and young generation mostly. Since old generation people do not know about those slang words and also it is hard for them to learn it they mostly use the old words in their conversations. I believe the term bae is used by more than just the younger generation. Also, you may hear people using this term more often than the users in the real life rather than just online and through texting. For example; my bae is going to work. Or bae do you wanna go out for dinner?
