Since the early 1500s, the manifestation of God throughout Europe was a spiritual revolution and the norm of society. God was known in every household as the answer to all questions and the explanation of the unexplainable. God was the center of the universe thus the earth must be at the center of the universe because of the close relationship with God. Every accomplishment or catastrophe was God's will. Europeans had a common understanding of God but as they started questioning God's influence and their position in the world Europe became dubious of God's creations. Perhaps there was an explanation for events and creatures and the answer may not be God.

Europe knew God was not reasonable but nonetheless God represented perfection. Aristotle, one of the first scientists stated, “He who is unable to live in society, or who has no need because he is sufficient for himself, must be either a beast or a god”. Concluded that men have the right to think on their own and that was God’s will as he has made us to his image. Experimentation became the first science and with the support of the renaissance men, God and science were balanced and equal in society. However, soon after, science created a distinction between the wealthy and the poor, the poor relying more on God than science. Science was the weapon of the rich. As this enlightenment period was sweeping Europe, religion soon die out because of the witch trials. The witch trials were another revelation of God. God's words were torn into pieces and Europe was divided into a Protestant North and a Catholic South. Northern Europe disagreed with southern Europe on their interpretation of the Bible. The Protestant north believed in sola scriptura while the Catholics of the southern region strongly believe in the guidance of the pope. A war for God was the result and this conflict that was based on European's faith in God soon turned in a scrabble for power and nation-states were formed.

Nation-states risen from the loss of faith created a secular Europe. The people demanded a division between their civil rights and their sins. Secularism influenced modern democracy and its foundation but the modern reform of secularism displayed an unequal dispersion of wealth among the people. Those who control the wealth became the new gods and they impose the rules. In France, this exploitation of power developed into terror; A terror of the powerful and thus they must be condemned to death. Reinforcing themselves with knowledge and violence the third state overthrow the nobles and those in power. Under the leadership of Robespierre, the French institute their own government based on distribution of wealth. Not only were the French seeking equality for all, they also wanted to be set apart from other cultures.

Nationalism not only brought technology, patriotism and change to Europe but it led to the rise of one of the biggest machines: Communism. All religions so far have been the expression of historical stages of development of individual people or groups of people. But, communism is the stage of historical development which makes all existing religions superfluous and brings about their disappearance. Therefore, communism brought about the disappearance of God in society. According to Marx, an increase in wealth, technology and science also increases communism's potential. Marx saw that communism had human and technological possibilities that could happen in his time period if society could adopt a new socialist view.

Additionally, Marx wanted his ideas to be used in the future to analyze capitalism by linking social and economic problems with the objective interests of each social class. Thus, way of thinking makes people move away from God and move towards the “real” possibilities of a socialist government and capitalist production. However, Marx himself never offers a systematic account of the communist society. Plus, he frequently criticizes those socialist writers who do as foolish, ineffective, and even reactionary. Even though Marx never concluded his work on political economy proper, he was aiming for a long-term outcome to a communist society. Marx wanted to make himself different from other socialists by arguing that people change their point of view because of the prospect of a better life in the future. As a result, he realized that highlighting communism is not effective to further advance proletarian class consciousness, his current political goal. Finally, with only the outline of the future visible from the present, Marx hesitated to burden his analysis of capitalism with material that could not be brought into focus without undermining in the minds of many the scientific character of his entire enterprise. Ultimately, these three factors help society move away from God.

Scientific communism views the state as an oppressing, ruling class that does not care about the future of its citizens. The ideal would be no classes and if there are no classes than there will be no class oppression. The 'classless state' - a notion that turns the heads of social democrats - is a contradiction in terms, a nonsense, an abuse of language, and if this notion is the spiritual nourishment of the social democracy, then the spirituality of God became even less. The similarities between communism and Nazism is that both of them compete against the ideology of liberal democracies. Additionally, both operated on a one-party system, using dictatorial power, a command economy and driven by millenarian ideologies. Moving on, atheists believe that when they meet other organizations, those organizations involve the notion of revolutionary politics as coming from outside the working class, in their case not from God but from the radical bourgeois intelligentsia. They think that it encourages people to look at a supreme being’s fundamental strength, as opposed to their own objective power and is not necessary to develop a revolutionary consciousness. Even though the Communist Party spread atheism, the bourgeois challenged it by arguing that atheism and religion are similar. Stating that both are unconscious expressions of a sentiment produced in human beings by society. Additionally, the C.P. has propagated atheism and combatted religion, but the party was in reality intellectually impoverished in terms of religion.

In conclusion, the machine of communism had the most impact on Europe and their social and economic development, resulting in society retreating from God. The adaptation of Communism was the comeback of the poor, they were taking science from the bourgeois and giving it to the proletariats. In a communist perspective, religion was the reason why societies did not thrive. Lenin once stating, ``Religion is the opiate of the people.” After World War I, Europe was building perfect societies without a God, later adaptations of Marxism ideas and utopias show that perhaps God was not the problem. Europe needed more just societies and in a Communist government everybody will be equal, Communism has transformed God into science.
