The Fault in Our Stars is a book by John Green and is 313 pages long. I really really liked this book for many reasons. But one important reason was because of the real-life lesson the book teaches. It enlightens the readers that everyone is fighting their own battles. battles no one knows about and life isn't fair you can't get what you desire in this world this world isn't a wish granting machine and to experience life.

I think experiencing life is one of the most important one because we aren't immortal life is fragile and short. We don't know when we will die, so it teaches us to do everything go out have fun because you might not be here tomorrow. The Fault in Our Stars is a book about teens fighting cancer, and it included an extremely detailed description of how it's like to know you will die soon but cant do anything about it so you just count your days.

Hazel the main character has some near-death experiences and copes with Gus the other main character as he vomits uncontrollably. Hazel not only provides teens with insight about what it is like to know you're dying and to lose someone you love, but her story is also about deciding to love and be loved, even when you know in the end it will only cause pain.

Other books I have read about people with cancer especially kids with cancer like, they tend to be overly sentimental and sanctimonious. But this book isn't. It's a story of what it means to fall in love and feel as if you are fully alive even though your life is slipping away in the most brutal way.

John Green includes intelligent vocabulary, well-written characters, and doesn't sugar coat the reality of living while dying. He completely captures the adolescent angst and thoughtfulness that comes with facing their own death. You know how teenagers get very philosophical and 'misunderstood' sometimes. That's in here, but it's for once not annoying or pretentious.

This is bold and legitimate, and far better than most silly teen literature available today. As the story lays itself before you, you enter a world of love and defeat. Loss and victories. And you realize how short and valuable life undeniably is. I would recommend it to anyone.

The characters drove the plot to a satisfying conclusion and resolved every issue. It provided a gripping glimpse of how the characters lived in this well-developed world, and the action was heart-pounding and effortless to visualize.
