Preparing And Preventing School Shootings in United States

Preparing for the unexpected like school shootings is very unlikely. Thinking it's another ordinary day, all of a sudden your teacher is telling you to hide in a place where nobody can find you. You’re constantly hearing screaming and running, then she walks over to the door, turns off the lights, close the door shut, and you’re in the corner crying and shaking. Then all of the sudden you hear gunshots and you have no clue what's happening. So you shut your eyes close and began to pray and hope everything is alright. Knowing you have never went over something like this and not knowing what to do you look over and one of your peers tell you it’s a shooter on campus. Then all of a sudden the shots get closer and then your door opens and everyone begins to scream.

The common fire drills, tornado drills, and others are standard but school shooting drills are not. They aren't really drilled frequently which leave vulnerabilities when an active shooter is present. Not to say that school officials should be armed, but that school officials aren’t prepared for things such as this. Schools should do conduct site assessments this means they should check around the school for anything missing in case of an emergency. They should identify the security weaknesses and train them for a day like this. Also school officials should think about installing cameras, bulletproof doors, and hire more security to watch over the school. To be prepared for any injured people every classroom should have emergency kits and things that would help save someone's life. They should also make a law where the schools can montoir any posts or videos a child has made that can be close to a threat or that is a threat. Doing a background checks on all gun sales so people exhibiting warning signs, and people with dangerous backgrounds can’t own their own weapon. Also officials need to make sure that every classroom has working window and doors that locks for the safety of the children and themselves. All over the news, mass shootings have become a commodity. They have been seen in schools, colleges and even in public shopping places but nobody will notice them. The one thing that all these places have in common is that students are not permitted to carry a gun while at these locations. School shootings have had a political impact on the society; bring some people to press for stricter gun control laws. Did you know the National Rifle Association is opposed to such laws, and some groups have called for fewer gun control laws, citing cases of armed students ending shootings and halting further loss of an innocent person's life. 

Many people are getting killed over anything because of guns. This is called gun violence. Gun violence is a crime that affects many people in America... what can we do to change society from gun violence? The goal is to reach a specific mindset in order to get people on board in the future. Gun violence is very important in the world especially for younger citizens of America.Innocent children and adults lives have been taking for no reason and it needs to be stopped. Did we forget about the Sandy Hook school shooting twenty-seven innocent people lives were taking or did we? There has been twenty-two school shootings in the year of 2019, can we stop or maybe be cautious if a shooter is near? School shootings can lead to other violence because of the sadness that was caused by the school shooting. Some people in society doesn't realize that shootings at school don't only affect the students but it also affects others around The United States. Bullying is another problem that can avoid a school shooting. Children who bully are more likely to come from homes with certain characteristics like: being bullied or mistreated inside of the individual home; Hurtful discipline; and no supervision of the child. Bullies can be mentally hurt and most likely to use a weapon or start doing drugs at a young age. Mental illness can also play a role in this too. Some people aren’t like others, everyone goes through something but four out of five percent may have gone through worse. So the school officials should let the children take a test and see what type of person they are and what’s going through their head.

A way we could stop this is if weapons were to be banned from the world for good. No one would be able to come in contact with any weapon if they weren’t made upon the earth, there could possibly be less killing happening because the rate nowadays is extremely high. Two-thirds of the world pick up weapons every time a problem occurs but is it worth it, that doesn’t solve anything. But if that doesn’t work officials should banned the most known gun there is and that is a Ak-15. An Ak-15 is an Russian Assault rifle this weapon is used in some of the school shootings that have happened. If we could ban fast shooting weapons like these there would be less killing. Taking a life of someone's daughter, son, uncle, aunt, grandfather, grandmother, mother, father, sister, brother, even friend. If they would stop making them and even selling them in stores and elsewhere we could likely stop it. Children and parents shouldn’t have to never worry about a situation like this but make sure you’re prepared for the better or worse. Will school shooting rates go down? Can we stop it? Also is it worth taking your anger out on innocent people's lives? Preparing for a school shooting is very important because you will never know what will happen and training for it will help a long way. Banning guns and any other type of weapons is the best option, a life isn’t worth a gun.
