One Of John Green's Masterpieces: Paper Towns
The book was written in 2008 by John Green other books he wrote are “The fault in our stars” and “looking for alaska” the book also has a movie which was released in July 2015, the book has 305 pages. The book is a coming of age mystery novel. The book is mostly about friendship and growing up. Summary Paper towns is about Quentin Jacobsen and his neighbor and friend Margo Roth Spiegelman. Quentin and Margo are friends but as they are getting older they are growing apart. One day Margo climbs through Quentin’s window and tells him that she needs his car and needs him to drive it. Quentin doesn't know if it's a good plan but decides to go with Margo anyway. while they in the car Margo explains her plan of taking revenge on some people, for example, her exboyfriend and her best friend. After all the revenge Margo takes Quentin to a big building and they look at the city, Margo explains how she thinks the whole city is a paper town. But when Quentin arrives at school the next morning Margo is nowhere to find, Quentin is disappointed cause he wanted to hang out with Margo again cause of last nights events but he doesn’t think anything weird has happened to Margo until her parents report her missing three days later. Quentin and his friends Radar and Ben start to discover hidden clues Margo left for Quentin and they jump at the conclusion that she want them to go look for her.
They follow the clues and visit multiple “paper towns” but Margo is still nowhere to find. At the end Quentin, Radar, Ben and Lacey go to Agloe another paper town which was used for copyright and they find her. But Margo’s reaction is not what they hoped for cause she seemed kinda angry, she never think Quentin would actually go and look for her she just left the clues so he’d know that she was fine. Radar, Ben and Lacey are mad at Margo cause they spend hours looking for her and now she’s angry at them so they leave to a motel. Quentin stays with Margo and after a long conversation they kiss but their romance can’t last long cause Margo is going to New York an they both know that Quentin can’t come with her so he leaves her alone and goes home with his friends. The book finds place in a suburban in Orlando, Florida. Characters Quentin Quentin is the most important person in the book the story is told from his perspective. Quentin is a seventeen year old boy who’s kinda quiet and shy, he’s not one of the popular kids but he’s got a couple of really good friends who’d do anything for each other. He’s also secretly in love with his neighbor and childhood friend Margo. In the book they really focus on the fact that quentin is growing up for example, when he and Margo first go on a trip to get revenge he’s riding in his mom’s car but when he and his friends are looking for Margo he has his own car. Margo Margo is a girl with many faces, she pretends to be this spontaneous popular girl but thats not her true self. She has lots of friends who she doesn’t even really like and decides to run away to a paper town.
In my opinion Margo is kinda like Quentin cause they are both introverts. Ben and Radar Ben and Radar are Quentins best friend and they also help him find Margo even though they don’t think it’s a good plan. The two are very different from each other, Ben wants to be popular and the only reason why he goes to find Margo is cause Lacey, Margo’s popular friend is also coming while radar is coming cause he wants to help his friend Quentin. My opinion on the book I don’t like reading and when I started reading the book I was not enjoying it but after like twenty pages I was really getting into the story so that was kinda nice. The plot of the story was kinda weak cause it was not really surprising except for the fact that Margo and Quentin didn’t stay together at the end. The book was also kinda cryptical with the paper towns but i manage to figure out what it means, Paper town is a town where everything is like the same and really boring so where they’re living but paper town is also a town that’s never built and only drawn on paper.
