The book Farewell To Manzanar. Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D. Houston I feel like Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D.'s argument was about different touchy subjects such as acholic abuse, verbal and mental abuse. But more importantly how a family could survive different hardships without papa, but the moral of the book was how families were alienated and put into these camps for just being Japanese immigrants trying to make lemons into lemonade moving on with daily life mama takes a job being a (dietician and woody signed a carpenter and also one of the brother's in-laws was a roofing foreman) pg 39. I feel like Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D.'s goal was to get back to normal life.

I honestly believe the author wrote this book as a recap on her life and a sort of way to show the in’s and outs of our government how they racially profile you and alienate peoples family and also put your family in hardship, how at seven years old “Jeanne and her family is forced to be uprooted from her only known home in Terminal Island they were given only a forty-eight-hour notice” (Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D..chpter2 pg 10) to move all their valuable possessions “Mama had to sell her china because it couldn’t fit in Woody’s car, a secondhand dealer insult Mama by offering only fifteen dollars for the china, she becomes angrily and smashes the entire set in front of him”(. Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D.. chpter2 pg14.)

I feel the most significant parts was when Mama scream “what is peal harbor” ( Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D.chpter1 pg6) the same night when papa sailed away from the wharf papa figured out that the Japanese had bombed pearl harbor leading him to “burn his flag he got from Hiroshima thirty- Five years ago and he also burned a lot of papers and documents anything that might suggest he had connections with Japan”( Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D. chpter1 pge 6)and here’s where the racial profiling I stated in the begging come from there were “500 Japanese families on the Island” and “they all was questioned by the FBI” it was stated “that if a resident had a radio it was a possibly it was use to contact the enemy”( Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D chapter1 pg7) I personally feel this is where the story begins “papa was taken by two agents” the family didn’t know where Papa was until a” letter was sent from Bismarck, North Dakota he was imprisoned at Lincoln an all-male camp for the enemy aliens”( Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D.chpter2 pg 15 ) family moves to Boyles Heights pretty much a minority ghetto. After Boyles heights, the family moved into a camp with poor conditions each family getting a cubicle of some sort sleeping on the floors, and at some point, the family starts to break up some sibling eating in mesh hall with friends pretty much trying to get back to normal life. Woody becomes a roofing formen and mama works as a dietician. Papa returns to “Manzanar on a greyhound” ( Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston & James D.) pg45 bus not quite the same. The moral of the story this family was put thru turmoil despite not having anything to do with pearl harbor and the different mind it took on papa.
