How the Compassion Can Improve the Relationships with Others

A lack of compassion can either make the world a little bit better, or it could make the world worse than it already is. There are times it is easy to be compassionate to others, but there are times it is difficult to show compassion to others. It is easy to be compassionate to others, when you have been in their situation and you know what it feels like.

For instance, your friend lost her grandmother, and she was really close to her. If have also lost a grandmother, and I was close to her. It was difficult for me to get over her death, but I did and I can help my friend by being compassionate to her and helping her through it. I can give her way to help her get over the death and she can talk to someone who has felt her pain. It is more difficult to be compassionate to others because you have not felt their pain, so you do not know what they are feeling, their mindset, or what they are really going through.

An example is if my friend was very sad because her parents were getting a divorce. I would not be able to show much comfort to her because I don't know what it is like to have parents getting a dicvorce or them being divorced. There are perks in being caring and compassionate person. A perk is that when you help someone and make them better, you feel so happy and accomplished. Another perk is that you feel so helpful and maybe even closer to that person because you helped them with an issue or helped them get through something. Being a caring and compassionate person has its perks, but it does have its disadvantages. A disadvantage of being a caring and compassionate person is that people may take advantage of you and use you and your kindness for their own will or bad acts.

Another disadvantage is that people could tell you lies and you could end up caught in their lies and issues. Their is a time when I did not show someone compassion. I had this friend who was mean and a bully, but she claimed she was just telling the truth. When she had problems, I returned the favor and was mean to her. After I was mean, I have a moment to think about it and realized I was acting exactly how she acted, I was rude and a bully. I apologized later because my conscience was eating me up. That is when I learned the lesson that if someone is mean to you do you are mean back, that makes you just like them.

I now try to never be mean to people, but I sometimes am mean and I apologize for it later. One time, I was talking to one of my friends, and I needed her help. My friend not compassionate to me and I felt abandoned by her. I later talked to her, and she was not trying to, so we made up and she did help me.
