Steve Jobs was known for his intelligence. But he had a different side: he never gave up on his dreams. Some even say he invented the 21st century, and it's not just a metaphor. The way people communicate, work and engage in the world has been influenced by this genius.

He became successful early in his career, and perhaps that is why he always said that no amount of money or success motivated him to keep working. He just made a dream come true.

A dream that old ideas and big shareholders' meetings partly took away from him. But Jobs never lost his vision as a visionary and never gave up.

Like many creative people, Steve Jobs lived his life between success and frustration, between a new project (which no one had ever thought of) and the pursuit of a more significant life.

Steve Jobs was born in San Francisco, California, in 1955. His biological parents were two college students who adopted him away at birth. Fortunately, Steve got a family that encouraged and supported him.

He went to school in California and moved to Portland to study at college. His time at Reed College was significant as he developed good qualities that went hand in hand with his indifferent attitude.

In 1974, Steve Jobs went on a trip to India to find the meaning of life. He spent time in an ashram of Shri Neem Karoli Baba in Kainchi.

He actually studied Buddhism and Zen at a center in Los Altos in the 1970s. Jobs built a lifelong friendship with his Zen master.

His biography author claims that Zen Buddhism changed his life and the way he worked. In 2005 Jobs said:

“For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself, 'If today is the last day of my life, would I want to do what to do today?' And when the answer was 'no' too many days in a row, I knew I had to change something ... almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of doing away with or failing - these things just fall away before death and leave only what is really important. Remembering that you will die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. '

In the 70s, Jobs also joined the country's counterculture movement, where he experimented with psychedelic drugs.

Jobs said his time of drug use was fundamental because it put his life in perspective and allowed him to visualize his future.

His first computer-related job was at Atari, where he met Steve Wozniak - a computer engineer who would later become Apple's co-founder with Jobs.

They were a perfect duo. Wozniak's intelligence as an engineer and Jobs's talent for business allowed them to create projects that laid the foundation for an empire.

While working at Atari, computers were something that was used exclusively by large companies and cost more than one house. Wozniak built the first fully assembled personal computer because he wanted one in his home.

That's when it all started. Two visionaries began selling the first personal computers from Steve Jobs's parents' garage. Although they went to different worlds after a while, they accomplished a lot together.

Over the next few years, Apple Computers expanded in the market. The shares were listed and things began to get complicated for Jobs.

In 1984, they designed the first Macintosh - an invention that marked a major change in the computer industry. But it didn't sell as expected, and Apple's board did not share Jobs' vision or passion.

They believed that Steve's demanding and perfectionist attitude undermined his visionary creativity and abilities. Like many other brilliant people in history, Jobs needed a team that matched his passion and vision.

Eventually, Wozniak left Apple in 1985. One year later, the Board of Jobs took his executive power away, so he no longer had anything to say about the company's future; therefore, he also left Apple.

That's when he created Next and started participating in Pixar's projects to produce animated films with computers. His time at Pixar led to great success and gave him respect for his own work.

h was a time when the company was behind Microsoft purely in technology. Apple had almost gone bankrupt, but Steve's comeback took the company in a new direction.

He completed all ongoing projects and regained control of his company. He made history again.

Jobs designed the new generation of innovative products, such as the iPod, iPad, and of course the iPhone. He established standards for portable, digital music.

In 2008, iTunes had more than six million downloads and more than 200 million iPods sold. In 2012, Apple finally became the most valuable listed company in the world.

In an interview in 2007, Jobs said the following:

'There's an old Wayne Gretzky quote that I love. I go where the puck will be, not where it has been. And I've always tried to do that at Apple. Then start. And I will always do that.

Perfection, passion, and vision. These traits were his angels and demons.

In 2003, Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which led to a series of health problems. However, he continued to work until 2009, when the illness forced him to quit.

Jobs passed away in 2011 at the age of 56. He was buried in an unmarked grave in Palo Alto, California.
