Cultural Heritage Left By Native Americans
Indian people were known for their art work and so creating this room would be easy due to the fact that they had so many great artists throughout the community. But what is sad is that because they were treated missfairy so there art work never necessarily got the rightful recognition that it disserved.
Native American literature includes ancient folktales, myths, and oral histories that were transmitted for centuries by storytellers and that live on in the language works of many contemporary American Indian writers. During the Trail of tears the Native americans didn't have anytime to read but they did keep journals that were written in their native language and then later translated into english by historians. These journals consisted of the hard times of these indians on the trail. Indigenous people during the trail of tears would usually would sing or play songs that had been passed onto them by their grandparents or parents.
David Mcalister says that the music of the woodlands was so noticeable that you would be able to realize what tribe it was from just seconds into the song. Cherokee music mostly consisted of low pitched sounds and what some call soothing music. You might be wondering how that has any correlation to today's music but low pitched music is used by many many people in today's society to either fall asleep or calm down. Beginning about ten thousand years ago, people developed more sophisticated tools and weapons, which included the atlatl for hunting and weighted nets for fishing.
To this day a version of the archaic is still used but it is now shaped a little different and is called the Axe. The food for native american tribes differ because some tribes stayed in one spot and farmed the land and then ate corn, beans and potatoes, the tribes that used this technique for finding food consisted of the Hopi, Navajo and cherokee tribes. Other tribes would hunt big game, Big game included bison and caribou these tribes would move around in the patterns that these animals migrated. All of the native american tribes used dance as a way to practice religious faith or as a way to express their feelings.
One of the most famous native american dances is the Fancy dance that was originally created by the ponca tribe as a way to preserve its history but then was adapted by almost every tribe. The grass dance is also another very widespread dance used by native americans were they flatten the grass and then start their dancing routines.
