Being Chosen For National Honor Society

I want to start by saying thank you for selecting me to be a candidate for the National Honor Society. I believe that I portray the qualities of responsibility, trust, determinization, kindness, and a good work ethic. I feel as if I will be able to do big things with the National Honor Society. having these qualities under my belt to bring in. I think I can bring good ideas to NHS that will show people different aspects of how a person can view leadership and service.

Leadership is something that has always been important to me. I have always been the type of person who wants to take the lead on any project or activity I do. I find happiness in leading a group of people either in the classroom or in my extracurricular activities. FOr example, on my club soccer team, I am the captain. Being captain of a team comes with a huge responsibility, but I love being able to look at my arm and see a captain's band. Seeing the band gives me the joy of knowing I was chosen to lead this team and I have to keep my head high whenever something goes wrong on the field. Service is something I always love to do. One of my favorite acts of service is volunteering at my church during the summer with the children's ministry. Working with the children always seems to brighten my day. No matter what we are doing they always put a smile on my face and keep me going. I put these two qualities to play at FHS by helping out the teachers whenever they need me to and helping out students. Either with homework or just knowing where to get to. Also, even though I'm not the captain of the soccer team here at Friendswood, I still take initiative and act like one whenever people are slacking or the team is down.

One of my favorite things to do every year is to set goals for myself. One service goal I have is to one day go to Africa and help them. Going to Africa has always been a goal of mine when I am older because of how less they have compared to us. I would love to help them by doing things for food, water, or even helping them build things. Leadership has always been something I see in my future. One leadership goal I have for myself is when I am older to own my own company and manage it myself. I feel like it will be a challenge but I love leading other people.
