Karl Marx is one of the top sociological theorist and will forever be in this world. Marx was born in Prussia on May 5 of 1818 and peacefully passed away on March 14, 1883 in London United Kingdom where he spent most of his life. Fun facts about Karl Marx had often kidded us of countries and only had twenty-four hours to leave. Some of the countries that told him to leave were Prussia, France, and Belgium. Another interesting fact is that they say he passed away with little money and only eleven people total people showed up to his funeral. Marx was most known for his many theories of communism. Karl Marx was a conflict Paradigm which means they believe that people are optimistic and that society is a collaborative, cooperative venture. It also means that there are scarce resources. It also suggests that people should contribute to the society and all people should have the right to equal resources, but some think that it’s very idealistic.

Karl Marx wrote his first book at age thirty, it was published around February 21, 1848 the name of the book was called “The Communist Manifesto. In the Communist Manifesto the book talks about all the goals that Karl Marx thought the communist had planned and did, it really talked about how different classes of society struggled in life. That’s when two different classes came in, they were called bourgeoisie and proletariat. Bourgeoisies is the middle class which is typically people who like to spend money on things such as cars jewelry or houses. The meaning proletariat is the working people classes and that’s those who work for everything they own and buy themselves and are usually lower than the middle class. One of the best quotes form the book is “Freeman and slave, patrician and plebian, load and serf, guild master and journeyman, in a word, oppressor and oppressed, stood in constant opposition to one another carried on an uninterrupted, now hidden, now open fight, a fight that each time ended, either in a revolutionary re construction of society at large, or in the common ruin of the contending classes.” What Karl Marx is saying is that the rich have always held the most power over the people and all. You often think is this true due most rich people have power over people with less. There have been cases where some families that want their kids to go play sports or just attend a well-known ivy league or school that is very good at athletics, some school like for example Stanford University or The University of California, Los Angles Marx could have a point.

Karl Marx is considering one of the three modern architects of social science along with Emile Durkheim and Max Weber. Some key connects of Marxist sociology are historical materialism, modes of production and the relation between capital and labor.

Karl Marx Investigated the production and the circulation process of which industrialism capitalism from which he formulated a labor theory of value for analyzing the exploitation of workers by the higher classes. Marx found the origin of labor theory of value and the methods employed by the capitalists to increase surplus value and the role of price system according to Gurley (1984). Marxist philosophy changed in the sociology was not only social theory. Its contribution was extremely bigger than that, it opened a paradigm shift from adding a new chapter to the theories of social theories. Marxist theorist believed that neither urban nor social problems can be solved by superstructure regulations because the problem was all system based. Social reforms or spatial regulations would have done nothing to solve the problems that occurred.

Marx methodology was about the labor theory of value, the materialist theory of history and political theory of the class struggle. These are tools of analysis, which have been further developed and modified by socialists, to explain how the working class are shows under capitalism and how world socialism will be the freeing of their class. The logic of Marx’s theories is independent of Marx the man. Nonetheless, criticisms of Marx have been made because of the misinterpretations and distortions of Marxism that have occurred in the twentieth century.

The next theorist is Emile Durkheim, Emile was on the thirteenth of April in the year 1858 and sadly passed away by a tragic stroke in Paris London on November 15, 1917. Emile Durkheim had many job titles such as sociologist, philosopher, teacher, and psychologist. They say he was extremely passionate about everything he did. Emile thought about order paradigm, this paradigm is very conservative in its view of society and the human behavior this is assuming that humans are very competitive and that we are running low on certain resources.

This is saying that only people who deserve these materials or resource show only have access to them, in another case its saying that there should be certain leader, it also says that people show really follow people who are a lot smarted then them and because they are technically better off in life with the education or intelligence that have. People with much better skills should also be granted better thing then those who don’t have as much experience with it. In Emile first book called Suicide it showed the study of the suicide rates of in the Catholic and protestant populations, it also help tell the difference from telling apart the differences from psychology and political philosophy
