Interesting Facts From The Biography Of William Shakespeare
William Shakespeare, best known for being an English playwright, poet and an actor. His plays being translated in over 50 languages and performed for all ages. He is known as 'The Bard of Avon'. He wriyes of tragedy, comedy and historical both in his poet and plays. He was born in Stratfor-upom-Avon, in Warwickshire, England in April 1564, where he lived for 52 years, passing away in April 23, 1616. He was married at the young age of 18 to his wife Anne Hathaway age of 26 with a special license. During their marriage, they had 3 children by the time Shakespeare was 21. After the birht of his twins, he disappeared from soiety for seven years, known as 'Shakespeare's Lost Years.' William's social status was that of a commoner, the lowest esteem of his profession. William was born 3rd of 8 children, to John Shakespeare, and alderman, and Mary Arden, the daughter of the family's landlord. His father was a business man who owned several properties. At the age of 7, he went to the King's New School, a free chartered grammar school until the age of 14. As part of his education, he was taught Latin and partaking in theater which was the custom at this time. There was no more education as this was left as a luxury reserved for the upper class families. Today, William is best known as a playwright and poet and a player in an acting troupe. How he gained his acting career is unkown.
By the late, 1592, William was part owner of a playing company known as 'Lord Chamberlain's Men'. When the monarchy changed in 1603, they became known as the 'King's Men'. In addiction to writing many of their plays he contnued acting in them. This is when he made his first appearance on a London stage. In 1594, William had his first play published. By 1598 his reputation and name became a selling point in his producations. He became a success by both an actor on stage and a playwright. During his time he was able to write at least 37 plays and many sonnets and poems. When the 17th century came, William became a very wealthy man. He contributed most of his money to obtain a secure position for his family in Stratford to stay with his family several times a year. With his constant savings, he grew rish enough in 1597. to purchase the second largest house in Strartford. William had become known as the keeper of a great house, with large gardens and huge granaries. He became the businessman specializing in real estate and agricultural products. His identiy and investments also became known in local farmland and farm produce. In 1599, William and a group of players created their own theater and named it the 'Globe Theater.' William made one last big investment in 1613, when he purchased an apartment in a well-known gatehouse in the once former Blackfriars priory. This building was near the Blackfriars Theatre that William acting company used for their winter playhouse. William decided that we would revise his 'Will' to include financial security for his children and their spouses to ensure their intrest in all of his estates and properties. William died within a month of signing his will, indicating in such will that he was in perfect health. Upon his death, he left his wife, Anee, and two daughter, Susanna and Judith.
His son, Hamnet, died in 1596 aat the age of 11 due to unknown reasons.There are no direct decedents as of today. William was granted the honor of burial in the Chancel if the the Holy Trinity Church in Stratford upon-Avon he purchased a share of the title of the Chruch for a very large sum of money. It is said that William wrote a curse on his tombstone to ward off those who would disturb his bones.
