Hinduism and Buddhism: The Values and Purposes of Both Religions

Today there are many different religions in the world. In Asia, Buddhism and Hinduism are popular beliefs in general. Hinduism is the religion of Antigua known and very rich in literally hundreds of divinities, rituals and symbolic beliefs. Believes is that was founded around 1500 B.C. but a person has never founded Hinduism, as it has evolved over a long period of time. Buddhism, on the other hand, has a definitive founder, Siddhartha Gautama, known as Buddha or Enlightened One who lived between 565 and 483 B.C. Both religions originated in India. Siddhartha Gautama was Hindu and discredited the falsehood of Hindu theology, and after years of searching for the truth, he created a religion now known as Buddhism. Because of these basic similarities, the two relics have much in common, but in the same light they differ greatly.

Hinduism and Buddhism have many gods and both follow the same paths to reach Nirvana (a place in which all enlightened beings resides). 'He promised to get forty-eight vows, which he proclaimed would allow him to reach Nirvana.”. The conception of a gods or god in Buddhism almost nothing in the eyes of some does not correspond to a religion. Hindus have many gods who govern different aspects of Hindu life. The three main ones in Hinduism are Vishnu, who is the Sustainer; Brahma is the Creator and Shiva the Destroyer. They are known as Trimuti. Most Hindu gods are associated with Cows and therefore Hindus think that being vegetarian is vital. Cows are sacred in Hinduism and are venerated as the Divine Mother, so this makes a taboo of eating beef. Buddhism involves meditation and prayer. In Buddhism, there are four noble truths: the son of Suffering, the truth of the origin of the Suffering, the truth of the Cessation and the truth of the Path. All of these follow the Eightfold path, which states the way of one’s life. Hinduism advocates the consecration of many objectives in life, to understand the right life, wealth, prosperity, love and congratulations. The ultimate goal is to reach Nirvana.

Following these steps and pleasing all these gods guarantees the ticket for the reaching Nirvana. Both Hinduism and Buddhism have restrictions on the amount of freedom a woman can possess, but the Buddhist woman has more freedom than a Hindu woman. '' All sentient beings are our fathers and mothers.”Even someone looking like a grumbler or a thief is still someone he has in mind.

In Buddhism, the place of women is inferior, derived from the traditional, cultural and social values of Asia. In Hinduism, the role of women is also degraded and their will is effectively promoted. A more beautiful set would be smart and intelligent in the home business and keep the furniture clean, which means she has to be cheerful and can't be angry with her husband to do something. The biggest set has a hand. She must have only one husband, even if he dies. If a woman commits adultery, she will come to her death and her assets go to her husband. Although both religions have restrictions on women's freedoms, a Buddhist woman can do things more freely than a Hindu woman. Both religions believe that life without violence is paramount for Nirvana. Buddhists preach compassion, charity and non-violence and although the Hindus profess pacifism and ahimsa, which is to avoid harm to people and animals, they still believe that war is justifiable in some cases. They see it as their duty to fight in a just war. Hurting others is wrong, but if war will cause the suffering of others, then violent acts are justifiable. Many Buddhist beliefs and goals are similar, if not equal, to Hindu beliefs and goals. The concept in life of not acting violently towards others is common to both religions, although they do have some minor differences.

Hindus believe that life has no final meaning and that it is only a small part in a vast infinite and essentially insignificant cycle of life and death, and that everything has a soul or an atman. This means that people should not look for Nirvana too much, but neither should they look for it too little. The Hindus believe in the reincarnation and transmigration of the soul and in the concept of successive rebirths until one does not dwell forever in Brahman after the search for the realization of the truth. Although the pleasure of moderation is fine, a Hindu must remember that life is suffering (due to reincarnation) which is also taught in Buddhism.
