Avengers: Infinity War Thanos And His Quest For Genocide

A warning to audiences should be put into place due to this film containing some of the most controversial action packed scenes in all of the marvel movies series so far. Thanos master plan for genocide is one example of a very dark turn marvel took for the movie. It was made pretty obvious early on in the film that Thanos himself was easily one of the most powerful nemesis the Avengers have ever faced.

There was a large amount of controversy around the fact that marvels #1 villain was going to be completely computer generated however after seeing this film and the villain in action it almost made things better and more interesting to what was in store later in the movie. I think folks were most concerned with the massive cliffhanger at the end of the film leaving fans very disappointed with the outcome of the ending. The avengers are joined by a few new faces to them but not for fans of the marvel series, Guardians of the Galaxy as well as characters from Black Panther. There were so many characters from marvel added to this film that your favorite superhero(s) makes at least some sort of small appearance on screen including Black Widow, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Spiderman, Vision, Falcon, and many many more. It is thrown out very early on Thanos’s master plan isn't to wipe out life on earth as a whole but to eliminate at least half of all life. In order to accomplish this he must acquire the Infinity stones including the mind, reality, space, power and time stones. Each stone is described in the movie to have a special power that when all combined with the glove it can do exactly as thanos wishes, wipe out half of all the galaxy with the snap of his finger.

Positive Elements

It is very obvious Thanos himself isn't all such a bad guy. Yes, he maybe trying eliminate half of the galaxy’s population himself yet its all for good intentions. He believes this is all true a thing he must do in order to save the Galaxy he must wipe half of its over growing population. This way he feels as if he's doing good for everyone else that will remain alive and they will live better lives. Despite his thoughts and the actions he must take to do all of this in his eyes he sees himself as a hero. Thanos’s plan is seen as very extreme and unethical to our Avengers they believe each life is very precious and in return they must sacrifice their own lives in order to save everyone else. Every single one of them trying fight back with everything possible in order to save their loved ones hearts, minds, and souls. We get to all see on screen our favorite heros display an extensive amount of courage throughout the entirety of the film. Even when the odds are looking slim they never quit. At one point in the film Okoye, Wakanda's (The home city of Black Panther) great general says, "It will be the noblest ending in history.

Righteous Content

Throughout the film you are introduced to the idea and Marvel’s world of “demigods” persay. The first encounter is with Loki (Thor's Brother). Loki defines himself as the “Trickster god” Meanwhile the entire movie Thor is making a statement about how Thanos “will never be a god. ” However we see Thanos acquires some god-like power throughout the course of the film. Never is it directly referenced in this particular film however many of Marvel’s characters who appear in the movie have some god-like figures behind their powers as well. Black Panther, for example, worships the goddess Bast for his skills and Peter Quill (leader of Guardians of the Galaxy) has the DNA from a very powerful planet-like being named Ego in his blood. There's a bit of humor behind some of these themes like when Quill makes a joking reference to Jesus. In this particular scene The Guardians of the Galaxy come across Thor when he’s passed out and the blue-skinned Drax give a little extra admiration to the man's body, calling him a cross between a "pirate and an angel. " Further on Thor is jokingly referred to as a "god-man. " Aside from the humor more importantly we hear Marvel’s interpretation of the universe's Big Bang, along with explanations of the creation of the Infinity Stones in the universe's first moments.

Conclusion

Infinity War was one of the most action packed and controversial Marvel movies I’ve seen. Genocide is a pretty powerful topic to talk about especially when half of the movie is marketed toward kids favorite superheros is does take some dark turns here and there like I said previously you are presented massacre scenes of large populations of innocent people as well as lots of death just in general throughout the movie and especially at the end of the movie (spoiler alert) when your opened up to the gigantic cliffhanger. This movie was presentedscene to audiences as a two part series that being said in order to know what happens in the end movie-goers are forced to come back to see the outcome in the next film. This being said was a majority of peoples excuse as to not enjoying the film however as a Marvel fan myself I find cliff-hangers like these lead to the creation of even better and more powerful movies series along with obviously the fact that you must go see the next film in order to be content with the ending of the first.
