The Gallup Strengths Insight Report is a skillful quiz to take to have an understanding of your leading themes in everyday life. According to my strengths insight report from Gallup, my top five themes are responsibility, include, learner, belief, and discipline. Through further investigation, research, and opinion I have be able to learn to not only understand them but improve and utilize them in every aspect possible in everyday life.My first theme I was given was responsibility. In the report, it tells me that with this label "you acquire the trustworthy, accountable and committed traits." (Gallup, 2018). Upon investigation, I asked a friend their opinion on the label and description. She told me she thought it described me well because through everything she has been through I have always helped to my best ability. I always assist my friends as much as I can and can always be counted on to give advice or a helping hand. She even brought up in my workplace I am always the one to cover shifts or never call off. On the flip side it can be used as someone who takes on too much or someone who can’t say "no". That is also very accurate because I am always rearranging my schedule or plans to please someone else so it can work for them. I like to use this as an advantage because I like to think my friends can count on me and can be trusted. I also like to think others including coworkers or family can think of me like that also.

As a second theme, I was given was includer. Within this it describes the trait as "open, caring, sensitive and defensive of others."( Gallup, 2018). In the description of the gallup article it states, that I might say life is good just because I have a lot of friends. After asking the same friend, she believed this expressed my personality well because I am always the friend making sure everyone has a part in whatever we are doing or planning. I always want to make sure everyone feels welcome and comfortable being themselves. I am protective of my friends and family and will help them through any obstacle they are given. The dark side to this theme is that you can be very indecisive and generous to a fault. When asking other opinions, I was told it fit me well because I can never fully decide on something without thinking of all the other possibilities and thinking of how it could go wrong. I also and very forgiving and cannot hold a grudge or stay mad at someone. Someone else could be in the wrong and I will always somehow be the first to say sorry. I use this label in my favor when planning events with friends because I always make sure everyone is having a good time and it is enjoyable.Third, I got learner. With this it describes the theme as "quick to grasp ideas, interested in earning, and intrigued by life." (Gallup, 2018).

My interviewee did say that she can imagine this in me because I am always trying to learn about new topics or asking a lot of questions. I like to hear other people’s stories and listen to how they view certain ideas or beliefs. The one downfall to this is you can be seen as a know it all. We both agreed that I am not like that only because I like to inform people of something if I know about it and they don’t, instead of belittling them and acting smart about the topic. I want others to be able to learn from each other and grow together. This barrier is practiced when studying. I like to make my own study guides based on others and put it into ways I can understand based on how it was taught. I also utilize this when in class because if I am interested I will ask questions to get more information. After that I got belief. This theme characterizes me as "light, true to self and ideas, and responsible." (Gallup, 2018). My friend perceives this as honest label for me because I always like to be myself and not be persuaded by others. I like to be true to myself and be my own person. I also don’t like to tell others they’re wrong either. I think everyone is different in a good way and should be able to show it.

The poor label is that you can be seen as stubborn and set in your ways. She thought this was accurate also but not in a bad way. I like to stick to my ways because it is comfortable and not just do things to satisfy others and what they think is right. I put to use this strength when with new friends or coworkers. I stand by what I believe in but don’t belittle the others and try to spread a belief on them if they don’t agree.

Lastly, I was given the discipline theme. Along with the others this theme is very exact in its description. It states that in this theme you "love structure and an efficient planner." (Gallup, 2018). I do enjoy routine and very much like everything to be in order and in its place. I cannot handle having a mess laying around. My friend liked this because she is the same way. She likes to have everything in order before she can sit down and relax. The downer side is that you can be seen as judgmental or someone who can’t handle change. I could see that being in both of us. We are quick to judge other people for leaving messes that don’t even affect us. We also don’t like when plans that are set are changed or rearranged. We like to stick to what we know and learn from it. This strength I like because it is helpful when doing homework and studying. I like to plan my week out and make sure everything will be done on time. I like to be in my ways and not be distracted or rushed when completing tasks.

With this information, I like to think that I have a visual intelligence. It is described by Jefferies and Potter as "learning visually and organizing ideas spatially : thinks in images and pictures to see things in one’s mind." I like to visualize information when I’m learning to understand it and see how it works. I like to be able to understand the process behind a statement and know the details and facts confirming it. Intrapersonal is also fitting because it is someone who learns through "feelings, values, beliefs, and attitudes to understand other people". (Jefferies Potter, 2017). I am interested in learning about others with different beliefs because even if I don’t agree with them it’s shocking to see how different or similar they are to what I believe. I connect with the musical because even though I don’t play an instrument or sing, I like to study while listening to it to block out other noises. Music is a big factor in my family between playing an instrument or just having it playing as background music as we eat dinner.

With these strengths I think I will expand outward into the real world and be able to use these with everyday jobs. Hopefully I will be able to get a job and keep it without taking on to much responsibility. I can hopefully graduate with at least a bachelor's and spread my knowledge to others to teach or inform them of information they know or think they know. With graduating I am hoping to get an internship and be able to work with others learning the same as me and be able to work together with each other to learn how each other do the same task different. I think the learner label can help when trying to be educated. I want to be able to learn more and be more educated in the field to be the best I can be at any task handed to me. Within being at school and having the includer tag because I can make connections through friends and coworkers.

Although I have many opportunities, there are many threats that could get in the way of them. After school I will have student loans and debt that I will have to pay off. Also there could be the chance of no job availability within the place you are wanting to work. Even before I graduate there are threats like not going to class. As students we aren’t obligated it to go it is a choice you have to make. There are even universal situations that there could be a world war and be drafted into war with no option. In conclusion, I think the Gallup Strengths Insight Report was accurate with the themes they picked for me. I am trustworthy, caring, quick to grasp new ideas, true to self, and an efficient planner. With that being said, even some of the bad labels like stubborn and generous to a fault aren’t always bad. This helped me to use the dark side of them to make them better and improve myself and my work.
